Małopolska and Krakow are synonyms of a modern business-friendly region. This is where activities are undertaken to support development of entrepreneurship and business innovation, which take place in an atmosphere of care for the environment and the well-being of residents. These efforts are numerously rewarded in various rankings. The most important awards are:

• The 1^st place in the business-friendliness category in fDi’s European Cities and Regions of the Future 2023 ranking (among large cities)
• The 2^nd place in the human capital and lifestyle category in fDi’s European Cities and Regions of the Future 2023 ranking (among large cities)
• The 3^rd place in the overall ranking of fDi’s European Cities and Regions of the Future 2023 (among large cities)
• The 3^rd place in the “Business-friendly cities 2023” ranking conducted by Forbes magazine (among cities with over 300,000 inhabitants)
• The best place for remote work in the OVO Network ranking and on the expatriateconsultancy.com portal in 2021

Krakow is a leader among business service centers – among the 11 largest centers it wins in terms of overall assessment of the center as a place of business, availability of talent pool and highly qualified staff. Currently, there are 261 modern business services centers located in Krakow.

Krakow is also a city of start-ups. Krakow’s strong position compared to other large cities is the result of having the most effective mentors, investors and support organizations in the region, including: the Krakow Technology Park, #StartUP Małopolska, Hub:raum, #omgkrk Supporting Foundation, Krakow City of Startups Foundation.

Małopolska is the first Polish region with the title of a European Entrepreneurial Region (2016). This prestigious title is granted to those regions that have presented the most promising visions of entrepreneurship development in Europe.
