Sustainable energy
Energy consumption is growing very quickly. That is why the world is moving towards a sustainable and sustainable energy system, reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and fossil fuel consumption, development of renewable energy sources.
This is also the direction in which Małopolska is heading. The global share of renewable energy sources in electricity production is about 23%, including water, sun, wind, biomass and befouls. Today, Poland obtains over 13.5% of its energy from renewable sources. According to the EU directive, the share of renewable energy must grow to at least 15% until 2020. There is not much time left. Today, every modern region tries to operate on sustainable energy. Also Małopolska. What are we doing in this area? We increase the use of renewable energy sources, increase energy efficiency of companies, reduce pollutant emissions and introduce low-emission urban transport. Sustainable energy – as a smart specialization – covers, in a nutshell, the issues of energy industry development and energy use. It focuses on clean energy technologies, efficiency and prosumerism.
