Chemicals manufacturer and distributor Huntsman Corporation is opening a Global Business Services centre in Poland.
The new business service centre (GBS), located in Kraków, will provide extensive support for the company's global operations. The Polish Investment and Trade Agency supported the investor in the process of handling the investment and provided the necessary information on state aid and available investment incentive packages.
Thanks to the Agency's support, the company chose Kraków as the location for its European hub. PAIH consultants actively advised the investor's representatives at the stage of the location visit to the capital of Małopolska. According to Huntsman, Poland is an excellent fit for the company's culture and provides access to highly qualified employees and modern infrastructure.
Locating new service investments in Kraków perfectly illustrates the dynamic development of the modern services sector in Poland and clearly shows what a strong brand Kraków is. The city once again confirms its strong position on the map of the BSS sector, not only in the CEE region. The maturity of the sector, which translates into the availability of qualified staff, and excellent university facilities are just some of the key advantages of this location, commented Marcin Fabianowicz, director of the PAIH Investment Centre.
Over the next 12-18 months, the company plans to hire around 100 specialists in accounting, credit, human resources, purchasing, automation and advanced analytics, as well as financial planning and analysis. In line with its global strategy, Huntsman also wants to invest in Poland in training programmes for employees to improve their skills and deepen their industry knowledge.
