A campaign prepared by Krakow5020, a municipal company operating under the DMO (Destination Management Organisation) model, will create the image of Kraków as a great place for business.
What makes Krakow's innovation ecosystem unique? There are several factors that contribute to creating a good climate for the development of start-ups and the emergence of internationally competitive businesses. - High-quality universities and colleges, a local community supported by networking organisations, a well-developed infrastructure of business centres, talented young staff and highly-qualified specialists - all this makes our city not only a thriving centre of leisure tourism, but also a place with a high power to attract business, says Izabela Błaszczyk, the CEO of Krakow5020. - We will use this potential, create the image of a modern city in cooperation with different industries and show investors and start-ups that it is worth developing their business here.
This idea is reflected in the rankings. Forbes magazine named Krakow the most business-friendly city in Poland. The capital of the Lesser Poland (Małopolska Region) came 20th in the global ranking of Super Cities by Tholons Global Innovation Index.
In " Kraków. Meet the innovation" campaign, Krakow's industry is talked about by those who know it inside out - founders of start-ups and experts in innovative companies, including Anna Weber, founder of the children's music platform Pomelody, Szymon Brylski from the travel deals website Bidroom, and Liza Khlopkova, co-founder of the VRpartments start-up. The campaign will also be running in the centre of Krakow. Tourists and residents will learn from media located in the Planty Park why Krakow is one of the most innovative cities in Europe. The data used in the campaign comes from a report on Krakow's start-ups prepared by the #OMGKRK Foundation. The campaign " Kraków. Meet the innovation" is in line with the recommendations of the Strategic Programme for City Promotion 2016-2022. The document addresses the need to create “the second pillar of the image” for the city, consisting in building modern associations and reconciling history and heritage with modernity. The programme also recommends promoting the city's business specialisation, taking into account economic sectors based on knowledge, innovation and new technologies.
