The Amazon Technology Development Centre, opened today in Kraków, employs specialists in high technologies. Innovative products and services with a global reach are developed here, e.g. voice technology Alexa, software and security support for Ring devices, or cloud services - said Ms. Marta Malec-Lech from the Board of Małopolska Region.

The official opening of Amazon Technology Development Centre was attended by representatives of the city of Kraków, universities, media and non-governmental organisations active in the field of new technologies. During the event, Ms. Lucyna Chwastowska, director responsible for the global development of Alexa Text-To-Speech, and other Amazon experts talked about the important role that employees of the Kraków office play in the development of innovative products and services. They also presented the reality of work and career paths offered by the company.

Kraków is one of the fastest and most dynamically developing cities in the technology industry not only in Europe, but also in the world. Thanks to excellent universities, thriving scientific and non-governmental organisations and talented specialists, the capital of Małopolska has become a key city for the development of new technologies. Therefore the decision to open another Amazon Development Center office here was obvious to us. I firmly believe that the opportunity to develop advanced solutions and equipment that have a real impact on the quality and safety of people will be an attractive offer for talented specialists from Kraków and the surrounding area," added Director Lucyna Chwastowska.

Currently Amazon's Kraków Technology Development Centre employs 50 people, but the company is recruiting intensively and plans to increase this number to over 200 in the coming years. Amazon's job offers are intended especially for specialists, practitioners and theoreticians of new technologies.

Future employees will become participants of global projects, creating tools to improve the lives of people around the world. Amazon guarantees that they will also have the opportunity for continuous development, active participation in processes and submission of their own ideas and research.

Amazon offers employees of the Kraków office a flexible work model, numerous opportunities for integration, meetings, sharing inspiration, as well as remote work. Interested persons are invited to check current recruitment at www.amazon.jobs/pl

In addition to its business activity, since the beginning of its presence in Poland, Amazon has been supporting local communities wherever its logistics centres, offices and employees live. That is why the opening of the Kraków office, apart from the inauguration of its new headquarters, was connected to the support of student and scientific circles.

Amazon provided financial grants to Professor Janusz Magiera's Foundation for Supporting Young Talents at the Tadeusz Kościuszko Kraków University of Technology, and to the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences Students' Club (EECSS) at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.
