On the 10th of June this year the company received from the hands of the Deputy Prime Minister Mr Jaroslaw Gowin, a decision on support under the Polish Investment Zone programme for the implementation of an investment project planned in the Niepolomice Investment Zone.
The investment undertaking will involve the expansion of the current plant in Niepolomice with new technologies and the implementation of a new strategy, including the reorganisation and modernisation of production. The amount of outlays specified by MAN in connection with the investment project will amount to approx. EUR 95 million. As Mr Thorsten Campehla, President of MAN Truck, pointed out, this is one of the largest investments in the company's activities to date. The final decision to choose the location was determined by the high qualifications of the management, the efficient business environment in Malopolska and the tax incentive system available under the Polish Investment Zone programme.
It is assumed that the production of the new trucks will be launched in September 2022. The scale of the investment and production capacity is impressive, as the Investor plans to produce 300 trucks and 200 cabs daily. All types of trucks will be built at the MAN factory, from light transport vehicles to multi-tonnage trucks.

Here we have two modern production plants, a financial and accounting centre and a sales company that has been present on the Polish market for more than 28 years - said Michael Kobriger, member of the Management Board of MAN Truck & Bus SE, responsible for production and logistics, during the ceremony.
Currently, MAN already employs more than 1,000 people in Niepolomice by Krakow. With the new investment, the company plans to employ a total of 2500 people.
The investment makes a significant contribution to the development of the regional and national economy, which thanks to MAN's investment will become even more innovative - emphasised Malopolska Region Deputy Marshal Tomasz Urynowicz, who together with Deputy Marshal Lukasz Smolka on behalf of the Malopolska Region Board signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MAN, expressing the region's support for the investment. Signatories of the Memorandum of Understanding were also: Minister of Development, Labour and Technology - Mr Jarosław Gowin, Governor of Małopolska - Mr Lukasz Kmita, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways Branch in Kraków - Mr Robert Jakubiak, District Governor of Wielicki County - Mr Adam Kociołka, Mayor of Niepolomice - Mr Roman Ptak, Deputy Mayor of Krakow - Mr Jerzy Muzyk and President of the Management Board of Krakow Technology Park sp. z o. o. - Mr. Wojciech Przybylski.
During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding the Deputy Minister Anna Kornecka from the Ministry of Development, Labour and Technology was also present.
Mr Tomasz Urynowicz, Vice Marshal of Malopolska Region, welcomed MANTruck & Bus SE to Malopolska and pointed out that what unites Malopolska and MAN is the letter "M" in the name.
Investor's representatives and representatives of state and regional authorities emphasised, that the undertaking in question will have a significant impact on, among others: long-term employment of residents, technology transfer, cooperation with local suppliers of products and services, which will effectively influence the industrial and technological development of the region.
It is worth emphasising that the planned undertaking of launching a new investment of MAN in Niepolomice was also carried out in close cooperation between all of the above parties and the Business in Małopolska Centre (CeBiM), which runs an integrated investor service system (one - stop - shop), in which the Małopolska Regional Development Agency S.A., Małopolska Region and Kraków Technological Park sp. z o.o. collaborate.
It is at the Business in Małopolska Centre that actions are taken to comprehensively prepare the investment offer of the Malopolska Region and Krakow. The main task of the Business in Małopolska Centre is to support both foreign and domestic investors interested in locating new investments in Malopolska, as well as to support export and foreign expansion of Malopolska-based companies. This was confirmed by the President of Kraków Technology Park Sp. z o.o. - Mr Wojciech Przybylski - saying that the idea of one-stop-shop in Małopolska is precisely the Business in Małopolska Centre, an operating model that has proved very successful.
